Abstract

The emission spectrum of thrice-ionized nitrogen N iv has been studied at high resolution in the extreme ultraviolet, from 150 to 500 Å. Series of spectral terms belonging to both singly and doubly excited electron configurations have been extended to high values of the principal quantum number. One hundred and two new terms, and one hundred ninety two previously unpublished spectral lines are presented.
