Abstract

A total of 225 new lines of Al iv have been observed in the wavelength range 400–4700 Å, leading to the determination of all of the levels of the 2p5 4p, 4d, 4f, 5s, 5f, and 5g configurations. Results of parametric calculations for these configurations are presented. An ionization energy of 967 804 ± 15 cm−1 has been derived.
