Abstract

The high-dispersion absorption spectrum of Ag i has been photographed in the 1540–1850 Å region. Observations include the 5s2S1/2np²P3/2,1/2° transitions for n =7 through n =71, the 5s²S1/24d95s5pP3/2,1/2°, F3/2°,²D3/2°,D1/2° transitions, and the electric-quadrupole transitions 5s2S1/2nd2D3/2,5/2 for n = 1 through n = 12. The ionization potential of Ag i determined from the np2P° series is 61106. 56 ± 0. 06 cm−1.
