Abstract

We determine the radii of the spherical mirrors in an optical system of reversed Cassegrain type with a given focal length in such a manner that the seventh-order approximation to the spherical aberration, associated with the ray from an axial object at a fixed distance from the system that makes a given angle with the axis, vanishes.
