Frequency-correlation properties of optical waveguide intensity patterns

Abstract

A modal analysis has been used to explain frequency-correlation characteristics in waveguide cross-sectional intensity patterns. It is also shown that the power spectral density of the waveguide impulse response can be obtained from continuous-wave frequency-correlation measurement.
