Abstract
The Maggi–Rubinowicz transformation is used to derive rigorous but simple formulas for Fraunhofer diffraction at apertures in the form of arbitrary polygons. The use of these formulas is illustrated by application to the two classical cases of rectangular and triangular apertures.
