Abstract

Two numerical algorithms describing a light propagation model based on the Helmholtz–Kirchhoff approximation have been compared. The first of them uses a fast Fourier transformation algorithm and the second one is based on ordinary numerical integration. The comparison shows that the results obtained with the algorithms are different generally. Both algorithms give the results in accordance with the experiment, only in specific and different ranges of propagation distance.
