Abstract

The comments by Liu and Zhou [J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 24, 28–29] about our theoretical analysis of nth-order cascaded Raman fiber laser [J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 22, 772 (2005) ] are acknowledged to be correct. In particular, some approximations used in the design rules, such as the depleted-pump approximation, may fail for low numbers of Stokes waves.
