Abstract

The odd-parity spectrum of neutral antimony atoms (Sb i) is measured by two-photon excitation from the ground electronic state. Data are presented for the energies of 112 bound states, most of which belong to three Rydberg series converging on the ionization limit of Sb i. The spectrum is analyzed by multichannel quantum defect theory. A value of 69 431.4 ± 0.1 cm−1 is determined for the ionization limit.
