Abstract
Generation of intense terahertz (THz) radiation requires an efficient method to determine the field intensity with a wide range of intensity response and accuracy. A new scheme is proposed to extend the limited response range of available time-domain spectroscopy measurement. The method applies two pieces of thin ZnTe crystals with a fixed angle between the (001) axes. At the optimized angle, the linear response range of the THz field can reach 31 MV/cm.
