Phase-matched frequency tripling and phase conjugation in isotropic materials

Abstract

A new phase-matching scheme for noncollinearly phase-matched fifth-order difference-frequency generation (FODGE), yielding the third harmonic, is described. The coupled-wave equations are solved for some special cases, and the phase-conjugating properties of FODGE are discussed. Different causes of phase mismatch are also discussed.
