Abstract

Complex spectral line shapes of J = 1 odd-parity autoionizing Rydberg series of Sn and Pb observed by Brown et al. [ J. Opt. Soc. Am. 67, 607, 1240 ( 1977)] have been parameterized, using a simple expression that is based on multichannel-quantum-defect theory and has a form analogous to Fano’s resonance formula.
