Abstract
We describe a laser system that produces pulses with a duration of 106 fsec and an energy of 2.5 mJ at a wavelength of 619 nm. Low-energy pulses from a colliding-pulse mode-locked laser are amplified at a repetition rate of 10 Hz in a series of five dye amplifiers with a final dye-cell aperture of 2 cm. The system can also produce pulses with an energy of 3.5 mJ and a duration of 160 fsec.
