Analytical solution for a self-phase-modulated and self-steepened pulse in a nonlinear medium with material relaxation

Abstract

We derive an analytical solution for a self-phase-modulated and self-steepened pulse propagating in a nonlinear medium with material relaxation. We use this solution to obtain the pulse spectrum and the Fourier transform of the Young interferometric intensity distribution.
