Spatial structure of nonlinear scattering modes in a Brillouin parametric ring oscillator

Abstract

The spatial structure of nonlinear scattering modes in a Brillouin parametric ring oscillator (a Brillouin cell with feedback), created by the self-intersection of a laser beam in a nonlinear medium, is investigated. For the lowest mode its threshold of excitation, and conjugation fidelity, and overall reflectivity above the threshold are calculated. The conjugation fidelity of scattered radiation is shown to increase as the intensity of the pumping beam is increased.
