Abstract

This paper presents the results of measurements of the temperature dependence of the refractive indices of the ordinary and extraordinary rays (no, ne) in the temperature interval 20-110 °C for various crystallographic directions of cadmium diphosphide. It is established that no and ne increase with increasing temperature. It is shown that the temperature coefficient for ne depends on the direction of the laser beam relative to the crystal's optic axis, while it is independent for no. The temperature-dependence curves of the refractive indices display a number of anomalies in the form of breaks caused by commensurate-incommensurate phase transitions.
