Abstract

The paper presents experimental studies of the dynamics of color afterimages and the main visual functions after de-adapting light acts on the human visual system. Five series were carried out with monochromatic (laser) radiations in various regimes under mesopic and photopic conditions, as well as one series in which the field of view is acted on by broad-spectrum polychromatic radiation under scotopic conditions. A common pattern in all the series was the appearance of color afterimages, although their dynamics depended on the adaptation background and the stimulus regime.
