Abstract

A compact high peak power tunable narrow-linewidth nanosecond Ti:sapphire laser is presented in this paper. A maximum average output power of 1.4 W with a linewidth of 0.12 nm at 780.21 nm is achieved at a pulse width of 120 ns and a repetition rate of 3 kHz, leading to a peak power of 3.89 kW. A tunable emission wavelength range from 779.64 to 780.35 nm with a tuning resolution of 0.1 nm has also been demonstrated by the existing system.
