Abstract

This study is focused on the development of hardware–software tools for detection of special inserts in video data streams for informational video clips. An algorithm for detection of anomalously bright or dark inserts in the video data stream as well as classification of the video segments by brightness difference in frame-to-frame transitions was developed. An analysis of 178 informational video clips of several mobile carriers was carried out to detect the brightness patterns used in television broadcast. The MATLAB development environment was used to design the tools.
