Abstract

In the design of lens systems for coherent light processing, the occurrence of quadratic phase factors in the path of propagation is important for the determination of imaging and Fourier planes. The impact and propagation of quadratic phase factors can be described by simple fractional formulas similar to the well-known lens formula.
