Tunable fast-pulse amplification based on the timing of photodissociation

Abstract

A new type of ultrafast laser amplifier is proposed based on timed interruption of photodissociation. The principle is demonstrated with time-dependent quantum calculations for the molecule CsCl. This disomer and disoplex laser can potentially exhibit a very large tuning range for amplification of fast pulses.
