Observation of reflection-induced light correlation in spontaneous emission in front of a mirror

Abstract

We show that fluorescence spectra from a dye-doped polymer film in front of a mirror exhibit angular and spectral localization effects caused by self-interference in the spontaneous emission. Experimental spectral results depending on film thickness are found to be in good agreement with the calculated results predicted by a semiclassical description.
