Diode-pumped, single-frequency Cr:LiSrAlF6 ring laser

Abstract

We report the development of a tunable, diode-pumped Cr:LiSrAlF 6 ring laser that emits as much as 43 mW of power in a single longitudinal mode at 849 nm. By tuning the output with a birefringent filter, we achieved single-frequency operation from 810 to 860 nm. The short-term (10-s) frequency stability was better than 15 MHz.
