Abstract
A new, to the best of our knowledge, free-space resonant Sagnac interferometer scheme is proposed. This scheme uses right-hand and left-hand circular polarization as normal modes running in clockwise and counterclockwise directions in the resonator, respectively. Details about the theoretical analysis on the proposed interferometer scheme and experimental results on feasibility studies are given. Application of this scheme to the rotation sensor is discussed.
