Abstract

A new fringe-counting wavemeter based on a compact spherical interferometer is described. We demonstrate a sub-Doppler accuracy of ±1 part in 107 by introducing a Vernierlike coincidence concept that takes advantage of the high finesse of the multiple-beam interferometer.
