Color-center laser continuously tunable from 1.67 to 2.46 μm

Abstract

Laser action is reported for a KCl crystal containing both sodium and lithium (F2+)A centers. The laser is continuously tunable from 1.67 to 2.46 μm and is pumped with the 1.3-μm lines of a Nd:YAG laser.
