Optical Materials Express Feature Issue

Optomechanical photonics

Submission Opens: 1 March 2024

Submission Deadline: 1 June 2024

Optomechanics is an interdisciplinary research field encompassing the interaction between light and mechanical motion across the macro, micro, and nanoscales. This feature issue will highlight recent advancements and future prospects in the field of optomechanics and its intersection with photonics. Submissions focusing on applications such as sensing, signal processing, and quantum technologies are welcome, as are contributions that present fundamental phenomena, device applications, experimental characterization, and theoretical models.

Specific areas to be covered include but are not limited to:

  • Optomechanical crystals
  • Optomechanical cavities
  • Optomechanics in waveguide structures
  • Optomechanics in optical fibers
  • Brillouin scattering
  • Optomechanics in low-dimensional materials
  • Optomechanics in polaritons
  • Optomechanics in bulk crystals
  • Optomechanical metamaterials
  • Optomechanics for photonic applications
  • Optomechanics for quantum technologies
  • Optomechanics for sensing and metrology
  • Topological effects in optomechanics

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the usual guidelines for submission to Optical Materials Express and must be submitted online through the Prism submission system. When submitting, authors should specify that the manuscript is for the "Optomechanical Photonics" feature issue (choose from the drop-down menu).
