Timecourse images of Arabidopsis expressing cyan fluorescent protein targeted to the vacuole membrane. Over a two minute time period following a 1.2 × 1013 W/cm2 laser exposure, the vacuole contracts and breaks into three discrete units, indicating that cell viability has been compromised. For details, see LeBlanc et al., Opt. Express 21, 14662 (2013).
