Abstract
We present a high-resolution beat-frequency encoded fiber laser hydrophone, by using a corrugated diaphragm to translate acoustic pressure into concentrated lateral stress on the laser cavity. Experimental result exhibits an average sensitivity of 190 kHz/Pa and a working bandwidth over 1 kHz. The detection limit reaches 74 µPa/Hz1/2 at 1 kHz, which is comparable to the 0-th order sea noise.
