Abstract
Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy and imaging using innovative photonic THz sources and detectors have turned out to be very useful techniques for applications in nondestructive testing and sensing including quality control of industrial objects, security applications and chemical analysis. By means of coherent detection methods time domain spectroscopy allows for the determination of amplitude, phase and time information. Depending on the method of evaluation of the recorded THz signals different properties of objects under investigation can be determined. Typical examples of THz imaging and spectroscopy are presented.
