Abstract
In this work we report on the quantitative investigation on the formation of dispersive shock in thermal media, we quantify the shock point along propagation and we show how it depends on the nonlinearity and the nonlocality. Our results not only confirm the finite degree of nonlocality of thermal media, and also provide a method for directly measuring it.
