Abstract

ScBO₃:Cr³⁺ is a newly discovered near IR broad-band tunable laser crystal which has been tuned over a 110 nm range centered around 840 nm. Because of the long fluorescence lifetime, 115 us, at room temperature, it is suitable for flash lamp-pumped laser operation [1].
