Abstract
This paper reports a patented technique1 which demonstrates both wavelength diversity and agility in a single device, using stimulated Raman conversion of a 532 nm frequency doubled NdrYAG laser. We used a two pass Raman shifting technique in which the pump polarization could be tuned from circular to linear for each pass. This allowed the Raman converter to be tuned for best rotational or vibrational scattering on each pass through the Raman medium. We demonstrated both diversity and agility with up to 85% Raman conversion efficiency.
