Abstract

We demonstrated for the first time blue emission at 468 nm by self-frequency-doubling of the 4F3/24I9/2 transition in a Nd:GdCOB crystal under pulsed Ti:sapphire pumping. The laser threshold in cw operation is investigated theoretically.
