Abstract
We present a universal method for energy-scaling of fiber chirped-pulse-amplification systems using the concept of actively controlled divided-pulse amplification incorporating separated free-space division and recombination stages allowing for nanosecond delays. This allows for efficient combining with high energy extraction and high B-integrals. In a first experiment femtosecond pulses with pulse energies of 1 mJ have been achieved.
