Abstract
For many applications, femtosecond pulses with high pulse energies are required. Additionally, the combination with repetition rates/average powers is also desired. Coherent combination of multiple amplifiers shows a path to accomplish those goals. In this contribution, we report on a fiber chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) system delivering femtosecond pulses with 1.3 mJ pulse energy at 530 W of average power. The beam quality is nearly diffraction limited. This is achieved by coherently combining four large-pitch fibers (LPF).
