Abstract
We developed a forward-viewing fiber-optic endoscope of a 2.4 mm diameter with the scanning speed (62.5 Hz) appropriate for 3D OCT imaging when using a high-speed (40 kHz) swept source. Systematic analysis of the scanning speed was performed, showing how the scanning speed can be tuned by the length of the fiber-optic cantilever and a mass added to the fiber tip. We demonstrated the performance of the miniaturized endoscope for 3D imaging of biological tissues in oral cavity.
