Abstract
Cerebral blood flow has potential to be an early biomarker for autism. In this study, we implemented diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) in the BTBR mouse model of autism. Results showed that the autism model had significantly (P < .001) lower cerebral blood flow compared to a control group, approximately 40%. These results show that noninvasive measures of cerebral blood flow through DCS are a potential biomarker for autism.
