Abstract
Multiphoton ionization has proven to be a convenient means for selectively producing a variety of atomic and molecular ions. Since the development of rare gas-halide lasers, in particular, rare gas photoionization has considerably simplified study of the collisional kinetics and spectroscopy of several electronically excited molecules, including XeF, XeO, and Xel.1,2
