Abstract
Existing scanning single-frequency dye lasers1 are typically limited to continuous scans of 30 GHz and have no wavelength measurement capability. We have built a system which scans over 10 THz with 1-MHz resolution, provides absolute wavelength readout to an accuracy of <4 × 10−7, digitizes and stores data under active computer control, and presents the data as seamless spectra.
