Abstract

We report use of a simple 10-Hz flashlamp- pumped regenerative Nd:YAG amplifier as a pump source for synchronous amplification of ultrashort dye laser pulses. The achromatic nature of our noncollinear dye amplifier arrangement offers the possibility of wavelength tunability of the amplified pulses.
