Abstract
We have designed and assembled a longitudinally pumped multistage Ti:Al2O3 amplifier system intended to produce pulsed tunable single frequency radiation from 750 to 850 nm with an output energy of 1 J/pulse at 10 Hz. This system is composed of three major subsystems: (1) a cw Ti:AI2O3 master oscillator; (2) a Ti:AL2O3 amplifier; and (3) a frequency doubted Nd:YAG pump laser.
