Abstract
Laser-induced fluorescence of arterial tissue has shown considerable promise as a diagnostic tool1,2 and can be used as a feedback control for selective ablation. However, the heterogeneous nature of atherosclerotic plaque and many native fluorescing chromophores makes interpretation of diagnostic signals difficult.
