Abstract
Traveling wave semiconductor laser amplifiers have tremendous potential in amplifying1-3 ultrashort optical pulses because of their large bandwidth, typically of the order of several terahertz. Their small size, high output power, and low power consumption make them ideal candidates for high peak power optical amplifiers and optical repeaters for future ultrafast optical signal processing systems.
