Abstract
DFB laser arrays have already been demonstrated as compact and efficient light sources for Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) applications.1 As the device packing density is increased, the effects of thermal and RF crosstalk become appreciable and can eventually degrade the device performance. In this experimental and theoretical study of the crosstalk in a high-speed DFB laser array, we provide clear guidelines for the design of such devices in order to keep the crosstalk within acceptable levels.
