Abstract
We present a novel method of selecting a single longitudinal mode (SLM) negative feedback loop controlled by the photoconductor. Figure 1 shows the experimental arrangement. A pulsed Nd:YAG laser was used with a cavity length of 1.3 m. The negative feedback loop controlled by the photoconductor consisted of elements 2, 4, and 7. Part of the laser energy was sampled to the photoconductor by a polarizer. The high voltage produced by the photoconductor was coupled to the Pockel cell. The stronger the radiance on the photoconductor, the higher the voltage, resulting in a negative feedback.
