Abstract

Recently, we proposed and demonstrated a new type of voltage-controlled tunable multiple quantum well (MQW) IR detector,1,2 which was based on electric filed domain (EFD) formation and expansion in MQWs. To better understand different mechanisms which influence electron transport in MQWs, and subsequent EFD formation, we studied the photocurrent spectra in a series of multi-stack detectors at different biases and temperatures. In this talk, we will present the results for a few three-stack MQW detectors. In particular, we will discuss the observation of strong temperature dependence of photocurrent spectral shape.
