Abstract
A table-top, 25 GW, picosecond CO2 laser system is now in use for laser particle acceleration experiments at the Brookhaven Accelerator Test Facility (ATF). The system consists of a TEA CO2 oscillator, a picosecond semiconductor switch, and a 3 atmosphere multipass TE CO2 amplifier. It is designed to deliver laser pulses to interact with picosecond electron bunches synchronously produced from the ATF linear accelerator.
