Abstract
Interaction of optical or near infrared laser light of intensity around 1015 W/cm2 with gases of He, Ne, or Ar atoms is a means of generating very high harmonics (with numbers around 100) with photon energies in XUV region. In this presentation I will discuss the physical mechanism of high harmonic emission in a very strong laser field and possible ways to manipulate this process.
