Abstract
Bragg gratings with an index change as large as ~ 3×10−3 are fabricated using near-UV (334 nm) Ar+ laser light in hydrogen-loaded germanosilicate fibers. The gratings demonstrated good temperature stability: annealing at 660°C decreased the induced index change to only 30% of its initial value.
